Pre-orders for Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has crossed the 20 million mark in China in mere three days since pre-orders began on October 10, new report claims.
According to a report coming from the Chinese website Tencent, China’s largest three wireless carriers, China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom accounted for 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus preorders, while Chinese online retailer Jingdong Mall has been responsible for the other half, with an estimated 9.49 million preorders for both devices.
Of the pre-orders registered with Jingdong Mall, 4.66 million were supposedly for the iPhone 6, while 4.82 million were for the iPhone 6 Plus handset. Last Friday, it was reported that initial reservation for Apple’s latest iPhone iteration with the three major Chinese carriers had strike the 2 million milestone in first six hours of booking.
The new iPhones are supposed to land in stores across China starting this Friday, October 17, alongside the handset’s India and Monaco launch. The new Apple smartphones are scheduled for an Israel launch on Thursday, October 23, followed by next day launch in Czech Republic, French West Indies, Greenland, Malta, Poland, Reunion Island and South Africa.
The expansion will reach the Middle East on Oct. 30 with Bahrain and Kuwait, while Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Guam, Hungary, Iceland, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macau, Macedonia, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, South Korea, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Thailand will see the devices go on sale on October 31.
The massive rollout will bring the new iPhone iteration available in 69 countries and territories by the end of October.
