The only thing more exciting than an Apple product release date is a flurry of them all pinned for the same month – as rare an occurrence as this is, admittedly. Nevertheless, a modest credible source is reporting that both the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 6 have been scheduled for a side-by-side launch this September, ahead of the iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 set to land in October.
If International Business Times is on the money, it’s going to be one hell of an autumn for the Cupertino collective all over the world.
The two new iPhones are apparently waiting in the wings to make their debut at the same time as iOS 7. It would of course make perfect sense for iOS 7 to launch with at least one new device to show it off to its full potential – two iPhones making the deal an even sweeter one.
“We don’t think Tim Cook wants to mess with the successful Apple formula left behind by Steve Jobs, so we believe Apple will again follow this iOS release timetable by launching iOS 7 exactly 100 days after its introduction, on Sept. 18,” read the report from International Business Times.
So putting all the pieces together we can come up with a pretty concise projection which is as follows:
iOS 7 will according to the report launch on September 18th, which means that the iPhone 5S release date should be September 20th. And in order to prevent the kind of biblical chaos on the streets even Apple store-security can’t cope with, the general consensus is that the iPhone 6 will launch about a week later – sensible for logistical purposes if nothing else.
What remains unclear however is which of the new iPhones will be the affordable plastic model and which the annual upgrade. Most had concluded that the 5S would be the frugal phone and the 6 the daddy, but analyst in growing numbers are beginning to suggest the exact opposite.
In any case, not a great deal longer to wait for all the answers so keep watching this space for more details as they emerge.
