Apple is likely to unveil its iOS 8 mobile operating platform during this year’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2014 in June, but rumours about Healthbook App, Game Center, Notification Centre and Messages have already started piling up.
Earlier reports indicated that iOS 8 will bring with it Healthbook App – Apple’s full-blown suite of health related apps that will work in tandem with its rumoured iWatch.
These rumours are now accompanies by a set of new ones wherein it is claimed that Apple will be removing Game Center app. However, Apple will not be removing the functionality aspect of the app as users will be able to check the stats inside of the games. It is just the front-end that Apple is planning to remove claims 9to5Mac.
In case of the Notification Centre, Apple is planning to do away with three tabs – which users will find in current iteration of the iOS – and instead will have only “Today” and “Notifications” views in iOS 8 to make the experience simpler.
In case of Messages on iOS 8, Apple is planning to incorporate automatic deletions of message threads. Users may have the option of setting auto-delete of all threads older than a set period – a month old or a year old.
The report on 9to5Mac also notes that Apple is looking at improving inter-app communications enabling data sharing between apps. The report notes that APIs that will allow for this to happen have been in development for over a couple of years now and its planned release during iOS 7 was culled for unspecified reasons.
