Right to information and open Internet are privileges that not every citizen of the world enjoy today. Depending on the region you live in, there will be some sort of censorship or information access restriction that will be applicable.
Some of the primary reason why censorship is imposed includes intellectual property protection, piracy, protection of culture, state-enforced morality, among other things. Censorship leads to blockade of some legitimate content as well including social media websites.
There are countries that restrict pornography, torrents and peer-to-peer file sharing and there are those that block such content outright. North Korea is one of the most heavily censored countries where torrents, pornography, political media and social media are completely blocked.
