The leaked pictures seem to indicate, that the device will have on the hardware side, a better than full HD resolution screen for watching movies and playing games, coupled to a camera with more than enough pixels to fulfil your photographic needs.
On the software side, the Google Android, operating system runs on a Snapdragon 600 processor, which while it is not the latest available processor (it was released nine months ago) it is a more than capable unit and will continue to be for some time.
All of this, with the confidence of continually improved and updated Google Android operating system, for the projected price of $229. A very good deal.
It is difficult to see, from the pictures, if there has been any real change in the exterior of the device. There is little that can be changed as far as the screen is concerned. The bevel around the screen, allows for grip on the edges, even though the Nexus 7 does fit in the palm of most hands, sometimes it is important to have this bevel. As for it being any thicker, or thinner, well that remains to be seen.
All of this comes ahead of a Google press event next week. The press release has not given much away but it does say that the event will be hosted by Sundar Pichai, the man in charge of Android. It would make sense from this that this is how Google have chosen to announce their new Nexus.
