Three-owner Hutchison Whampoa has launched end-to-end Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) platform dubbed “Hue” that aims to offer global connectivity to its partners.
The Hong Kong-based telco said its operator-led, end-to-end mobile wholesale enabling business, Hue, will act as a single point of entry for MVNOs looking for a global footprint.
“Hue provides a simple and efficient means of building an international [mobile operator],” the telco said.
“By giving its customers the ability to access multiple markets via a single enabler, Hue supports the rapid expansion of international offerings.”
Hutchison said Hue’s platform will offer a wide range of services covering customer relationship management, billing and provisioning and act as an “interface” with third parties such as credit management agencies and logistics partners.
The platform will give MVNOs access to the 12 countries Hutchison currently operates in including Austria, Australia, Denmark, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Ireland, Macau, Sri Lanka, Sweden, UK and Vietnam. For countries outside of Hutch’s footprint, Hue will negotiate with local operators to provide connectivity.
“Today’s mobile wholesale market is fragmented and new entrants to mobile are often challenged with needing to understand market nuances and regulations in different countries,” said Hue CEO Jarrod Nink.
“Hutchison Whampoa’s industry-wide credibility provides our customers with the reassurance that they will be able to connect end users to the latest 4G technology and robust networks.”
Hutchison said Hue would announce partnerships with a number of MVNOs during the next few months.
