Huawei on Monday, being the official smartphone partner of Arsenal football team, has launched a special version of the Ascend P7 smartphone with Arsenal dedicated makeover.
Huawei’s flagship Ascend P7 phone, which was released back in May, packs a 5-inch, 1080p screen with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powered by a quad-core 1.8GHz Cortex-A9 processor, the P7 features 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage, along with microSD to expand to 64GB.
The smartphone features a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED and an impressive 8-megapixel front snapper for high-resolution selfies.
The special Arsenal edition Ascend P7 handset will feature the North London football club’s crest on the rear cover under the Gorilla Glass 3.
In addition to the club’s crest, the exclusive phone will also feature a number of themes designed around the Arsenal football club, a host of Arsenal-themed icons and wallpapers with images of Highbury buildings, scenes of the Emirates by day and night, celebrations of the 2014 FA Cup win, a working clock widget based on the Arsenal crest and so on.
The Arsenal edition handsets will come with preinstalled football apps such as the BBC iPlayer for match highlights and the popular FIFA 14. The handset will also feature BBC News, BBC Sport and BBC iPlayer Radio as well as the new Yakatak app which will allow Arsenal fans to get live game updates and share them directly with social media platforms.
Richard Ren, President of the Huawei Consumer Business Group, Western European Region, announcing the launch said the company is quite excited to announce the exclusive Arsenal edition Ascend P7 smartphone right in time for the new Barclay’s Premier League season. He also added that there are a couple of surprises in the pipeline for Arsenal lovers to be watched for.
Huawei is yet to reveal the pricing and availability details of the new Ascend P7 Arsenal edition.
