Fingerprint sensors in smartphones are slowly catching up with HTC One Max being the latest phone to incorporate the feature. HTC One Max is a supersized smartphone with 5.9-inch 1080p full HD display with the fingerprint sensor on the back of the smartphone – something HTC did with the physical back buttons on the 5.2-inch G2.
Apple’s TouchID is definitely great feature in the iPhone 5S, but the current limitation of ability to unlock the smartphone and make purchases with the iTunes is something that has been trumped by HTC. The One Max has incorporated a quick-launch feature – something that allows users to assign individual finger prints to apps thereby allowing users to access their favourite apps or functions by just scanning their relevant fingerprint.
Some of the other specifications of the phone include 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 16GB or 32GB internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 4G, the same Ultrapixel rear camera as in the case of the original One, HTC Sense 5.5, Android 4.3, and personalized HTC BlinkFeed among others.
The HTC One Max comes with a removal back allowing users to their microSD card, but the 3,300 mAh battery is still sealed up for some reason. This is something that HTC could have easily provided, but a unique design prevented HTC from providing this option. The primary reason HTC went ahead with such a design was to preserve the aesthetics of the original HTC One, while allowing for extra storage.
