HTC has expanded its Desire line-up of smartphones with the launch of the ‘HTC Desire 826’ at CES 2015 in Las Vegas.
Touted as the first HTC phone to run Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, the Desire 826 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, and a microSD slot for more memory. The smartphone packs in a 13-megapixel (f/2.2) rear camera with 28mm lens, BSI sensor, and LED flash, a 4-UltraPixel shooter and a 2,600mAh battery.
Connectivity options on the Desire 826 smartphone include 4G (dual-4G), Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB. Weighing in at 155 grams, the smartphone measures 158 x 77.5 x 7.99mm.
Other prominent features include dual front facing speakers featuring Dobly Audio with HTC’s BoomSound and HTC EYE Experience, a software suite that will let users optimize their phone’s camera.
The 4G-supported smartphone will come in two variants (single-SIM and dual-SIM) depending upon the regions. The color options include blue lagoon, white birch and purple fire.
The Desire 826 is expected to arrive in select Asian markets sometime later this month, while details about availability in US and Europe are still awaited. There is currently no word on what to expect for pricing.
