HP has just taken the wraps off its upcoming three-in-one Android tablet dubbed ‘the Slate 17’ and the mammoth slate will land in the UK next year.
The new Slate device has been designed to serve the purpose of a tablet, a laptop and a television altogether via its large 17.3in HD IPS touchscreen display and built-in BeatsAudio speakers which the maker claims makes Slate 17 ideal for entertainment, movies, games and more.
Announcing the launch, Louis Perrin, director, consumer products, Printing and Personal Systems Group, HP EMEA said HP users had been asking for a large form factor entertainment device to allow multiple people to enjoy content together.
The HP Slate brings Android users’ movies, games and music to life on a large 17in HD display for an immersive multi-user experience which is impossible on a phone or tablet, Perrin added.
Powered by a fanless Intel processor, the Slate 17 accompanies an integrated multi-position hinge for using in multiple places. The dual-position stand can be used in upright mode for easy viewing, reclined for the gaming mode or just used flat.
Connectivity options of the Slate device include Bluetooth and a media card reader as well as full-sized HDMI and USB 2.0 connectors for further mobile and entertainment expansion. The HP Slate also includes an accelerometer and gyroscope to enhance gaming.
Available in white and yellow color options, the HP Slate 17 is expected to reach the UK early next year starting at around £350.
