Grand Theft Auto V has managed to regain its top spot in all-format charts in the UK by relegating FIFA 14 to second spot.
FIFA 14 had been in the lead for two weeks straight after its launch by uprooting GTA V, but didn’t manage to keep the momentum of its sales going following which the stronger GTA V has topped the charts again. We reported earlier that FIFA 14’s weekly sales were falling fast by 68 percent compared to GTA V’s 34 percent decline.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y – two titles for the Nintendo 2DS have managed to enter the top 10 charts at impressive third and fourth positions respectively. The two titles have sold more units (cumulative) than their predecessors Pokemon Black and Pokemon White; however, they failed to ace the charts. Beyond: Two Souls is also a new entrant with at fifth position.
GTA V may have an impressive run so far; however, GTA Online has had a turbulent week with users complaining about issues related to connectivity; loss of in-game money, characters, game progress and vehicles; inability to progress further; among others. Rockstar has resolved almost all issues so far through title updates, but it announced earlier that it won’t be able to restore users’ game progress and characters and will provide a stimulus package so that users can get back on their feet and continue playing.
