GoPro on Monday to roll out its channel app for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 that lets Xbox Live Gold subscribers to browse and search for extreme adventures videos made with GoPro’s unique camera accessories from all around the world.
The GoPro app will launch on Xbox 360 this summer. GoPro is also planning to release two videos — one about a basketball trick shot and the other about a snowmobile jump — that will be available exclusively on the channel for a week to celebrate the app’s Xbox 360 launch.
“The GoPro channel app will bring the best of GoPro originally produced and user-generated content into the homes of millions of Xbox Live Gold customers,” said Adam Dornbusch, head of content distribution at GoPro.
“We’re excited to launch with exclusive content for early adopters of the app and stoke out the Xbox 360 community with hours of engaging and inspiring GoPro videos through the channel.”
Additionally, Xbox One’s YouTube app is all set to receive a major update that will allow direct uploads of Game DVR clips to YouTube with the new “My Uploads” menu available within the YouTube app.
Currently, users are required to upload clips recorded via Game DVR to OneDrive before sharing it on YouTube. The new app version will feature a ‘My Uploads’ menu that will enable gamers to access their captured and edited footage. Users can edit and share their videos on social networking sites through Upload Studio.
The Xbox One YouTube app is also receiving other updates including a feature that will allow users to watch YouTube in Snap mode. The app also allows users to pin individual videos and earn Media Achievements. Users can also add their YouTube channels to the OneGuide, to get instant access to YouTube videos next to their TV listing or App Channels.
