Google has released its iTunes Match competitor and a subscription service – Google Play Music – dawned with standard Google Play Music features and All Access subscription for iOS devices on Friday.
The iOS app is more or less at par with its Android counterpart and comes with features that allows its users to store up to 20,000 songs online from their own collection for free and listen to them from their iPhone. In case users fancy shelling out $9.99 per month, one can subscribe to All Access subscription service thereby gaining access to tracks from all major music labels out there.
Users can create their own radio stations or listen to one of those predefined by Google. One major benefit of All Access from Google Play Music is that there is no limit to the number of songs a user can skip while listening to the Radio unlike Pandora and iTunes Radio.
Some of the features of the service are ability to listen to unlimited songs; custom radio station from any song, artist or album; smart recommendations based on one’s taste; and handcrafted playlists from Google’s music experts among others.
Google announced the service back in May, but iOS application never materialized because of DRM issues that cropped up for the lack of Flash support in iOS. It seems that Google has managed to find a way around this and hence the release of Google Play Music of iOS.
The app can be downloaded from Apple App Store for free.
