LG and Sony have both announced Google Play Editions of their recently launched devices – G Pad 8.3 and Xperia Z Ultra – running Android 4.4 KitKat and available from Google Play Store here and here.
LG G Pad 8.3 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC clocked at 1.7GHz, features an 8.3-inch full HD IPS display with 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution at 273 pixels per inch, 2GB LPDDR2 RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front shooter, and a 4,600mAh battery.
Sony released its Xperia Z Ultra through an official announcement that read “Today, we’re excited to introduce Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition, released on the latest Android version (4.4; KitKat) – it’s available now through the Google Play™ store in the United States.”
Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition is powered by a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, features a 6.4-inch full HD Triluminos display, 2GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front one, supports LTE and NFC, and is dust-resistant and waterproof.
