Google’s Photo Sphere app that lets users create 360 degree photos of an area has finally made its way to the Apple’s App Store for iDevice users.
The app is available for free download on iPhones and iPads running iOS 7 and above. The Photo Sphere app lets users choose different photos of the same area which will be stitched together to form a 360 degree photo letting viewers scroll up, down, left and right to get a full view of the area.
The app also provides options to share the photos on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. Users can also add them to Google maps directly for anyone looking up the location on the map to view them.
Photo Sphere product manager Evan Rapoport said in a statement that the company decided to integrate it with the Maps feature so that people can “virtually explore the world” on Google Maps.
With this move, Google is likely trying to get as many users as possible to use the product by making its app available on a different platform like iOS. Google can also make Google maps more informative as users keep adding more 360 degree pictures of places.
In addition to Photo Sphere, Google also has other photo apps like the Auto Awesome Movie that is the video version of its Photo editing features. It lets users add photos which will be organized into a short movie with audio clips and filters added automatically by the app.
