If you own an Apple computer the chances are, if you own a 7 inch tablet or are in the market to buy one, it will be an iPad Mini. The belief that everything Apple ‘Just works’ and works together across the companies range of devices, is just too strong in most of the Apple faithful, for them to consider looking at anything else.
There is however one thing that, even those who are completely immersed in a Mac world cannot ignore, as they are constantly reminded of it’s existence everyday in interaction with clients, is Google. A huge number of people and businesses rely on gmail.com email addresses for communication and the suite of products such as Calendar, online document storage, chat etc. that Google provide for free.
Google have been very successful in offering free services to clients in the form of applications and have built on this success but also offering the Android operating system to whoever wishes to use it. The Android system makes integration of all the services offered by the company very easy and leads to growth, as users of Android use the other products and users of the products turn to the Android operating system.
When all of the above is then packaged into a 7 inch tablet, also produced by Google, you get a very interesting business tool. There is a range of external keyboards available. For Apps, the Google Play store does not have as many Apps as the Apple App Store, but it still has the essential business software packages. The screen also is just big enough for working on most business projects.
Unlikely though it may seem, maybe there is a place on a Mac users desk, for a Nexus 7.
