Android app, Google Fit, has been updated to add support for an array of new features including calorie counter and distance calculator.
According to Android Official Blog, the updated Google Fit app will now calculate distance and calories burned based on a user’s profile. Users will need to update their profile with information about gender, height and weight for the app to make the calculations.
The updated timeline will now offer a detailed activity about levels and exercises through days, weeks or months to help users get a sense of how their fitness activities impact them over time.
In addition the update also makes the app more user-friendly for those who use Android Wear watch as well. Google Fit displayed on the smart watch will now show the duration of the workout.
Also, a new Google Fit widget has also been introduced, which can be pinned onto the users smartphone home screen and will constantly remind them of their activity. The same function will work on an Android Wear watch as well.
The updated app is now available for download on Google Play Store.
