Google Contacts has been updated with a host of new features including a new refreshed look, find duplicate feature and more.
“Today we’re releasing a preview of the new Google Contacts that makes it easier to keep track of the people you know and get the info you need, fast. The new Google Contacts comes with a fresh look and feel, and conveniently pools together all your contacts, circles, and the people you talk to most in Gmail.” the official Gmail blog quotes.
Among the new features introduced is the new integrated calendar and email interface that allows users to check email exchanges and calendar appointments. Google Contacts also now supports new ‘Find Duplicates’ feature, which removes all duplicate contacts and also asks the user if they would like to merge them together.
The new update will keep users’ contacts up-to-date by pulling information from their Google+ profiles to keep everything up to date, like profile photos, job titles and email addresses. Also, when a user clicks on a contact, it brings up the recent chat history, emails and meetings.
“You can now see your most recent emails and meetings with a person directly in their contact card. So whether it’s been two days or two years since your last conversation, it’s easier than ever to pick up right where you left off,” explained Sean Purcell, Product Manager on official Gmail blog.
The update is available for Gmail users to try now. Google Apps users will get the feature soon, with Google says it is currently working on adding support.
