Google’s HDMI media streaming device – Chromecast – is now available in the UK for a whopping £59.99 – three times the price than what it is available for in the US.
Available for pre-order through Amazon UK, Chromecast is yet to be made available through Google Play. In US the media streamer is being sold for just $35 and those who are looking to buy one from Amazon US and get it shipped to the UK are in for a bad news as the online retailer has decided that it won’t be shipping the device internationally.
Amazon UK has claimed that it has got the device in stock and those who are looking to get their hands on one should rush to the site ASAP as chances are that it may get sold out soon enough. A quick search on eBay UK would also give you a few results, but if you are hoping for a discount then don’t bother as Chromecast is available for £59.99 there as well.
Google unveiled its media streaming HDMI dongle in July to rival similar devices offered by Apple and Roku. The device needs to be plugged into an HDMI output, connect it to Wi-Fi, and start streaming content from your mobile, tablet or laptop to the TV by hitting the ‘Chromecast’ button.
The search engine giant has ensured that the device is platform independent and it works with Windows, iOS, Android, and Mac OS X.
