Keeping up with its tradition of marking and celebrating important events, days and anniversaries through a doodle on its homepage, Google has rolled out a heart warming, colourful doodle on the occasion of the International Women’s Day 2015.
Google’s doodle is a way of paying tribute to women for their unconditional love, care and compassion. It salutes the female power for their achievements in the field of science, technology, medicine, music, art, literature, culinary talents and what all they touched and transformed into gold!
The doodle features a doctor, painter, lawmaker and a scientist among others. Women can also be seen painting, playing a guitar and teaching students in the logo.
Through the doodle, Google lauds women who broke all the barriers taking the unconventional path to success by depicting them in different profession. It represents the modern woman who is successful in her field and is an inspiration for many.
Last year’s doodle was a video-based doodle that featured over 100 famous female personalities including Pakistani teen and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai and Bollywood legend Asha Bhonsle. The video featured a single by Belgian artist Marie Daulne playing in the background.
As for United Nations’ theme for this year’s International Women’s Day – it is “Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity: Picture it!”
