Google on Monday announced the roll out of a new iOS presentation app dubbed ‘Slides’, alongside a major update that will see existing ‘Docs’ document editing and ‘Sheets’ spreadsheet apps added with new editing features.
Announcing the launch, Google said that with the introduction of the Slides app for iPhone & iPad and updates to the Docs and Sheets apps, the company is working to make it possible for users to work with any file, on any device, any time as promised earlier.
The latest update will let users create their files, edit that spreadsheet, and update that slide deck without any hassle, Google noted.
Adding to the Google’s suite of productivity tools list, Google Slides is a complete presentation tool that will allow users to create, edit and work on native Microsoft Office files and presentations directly from their iOS compatible device. The new app allows for sharing presentations with others as well as work together on the same presentation with multiple people at the same time. Like other Google apps, Slides also supports offline work mode as well as automatic file saving feature.
Google has also updated its Docs and Sheets with support for Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel files, respectively, allowing for opening and editing Microsoft documents using Google apps.
All three apps Slides, Docs, and Sheets sized at 61.5MB, 50.4MB and 82.3MB respectively are available for download on the iOS App Store for free.
