Recent research report claims that a dead battery could “cause stress” for millions of people as “having enough juice to keep the phones running” is the hinge of their daily activities.
According to the study, 9 in 10 Brits (92 percent) would feel stressed in case of a flat battery, while 61 percent would become frustrated and 25 percent would feel panicked.
The research, carried out by smartphone case maker Mophie, 59 percent of the people feel the biggest problem to be unable to make and receive call, when the battery is dead.
“Millions of people rely on their smartphones daily to stay in touch with loved ones and do work on the move,” said Kevin Malinowski, a spokesman for Mophie, notes Daily Mail.
“But all of these activities hinge on a single factor: having enough juice to keep the phones running.”
The survey of 872 people revealed that 8 in 10 Brits have had bad experience when the battery in their smartphone ran out. The bad experiences include missing an important call and not being able to access needed information.
Half of the people surveyed said that they would know three phones numbers by heart at the best if the battery ran out, which highlights the increasing reliance on smartphones. More than 70 percent of the people said that they would even give up watching TV or having pudding after a meal, to have a fully charged smartphone for an entire month.
The report also notes that 39 percent of the Brits surveyed have acknowledged the recent report that claimed “young people in the UK have felt at some point that they are addicted to the internet.” Experts suggest people to resist the urge of taking phones to bed in order to overcome this addiction.
