Flappy Birds, the game that has been dearly missed since it was called off earlier this year, is now returning with a set of new features and improvements, notably as a multiplayer game renamed as Flappy Birds Family.
The game is currently available only on Amazon’s app store for Android for playing only on the Fire TV. Amazon Fire TV has specially built game controllers and the game is compatible with the controller. The game has a split screen for multiple players and more difficult obstacles to tackle.
“Enjoy playing the game at home (not breaking your TV) with your family and friends”, reads the application description.
Developer Dong Nguyen said that the game offers more fun yet it is hard. Nguyen’s solely controlled Dotgears Studios announced that it has plans to bring back the game with multiplayer options and more features roughly three months after it was called off from Apple and Google app stores.
Nguyen who developed the game with the purpose of offering simple entertainment said that it has invited a slew of criticism as people, especially children got addicted to it and the game was blamed for poor grades, after which he decided to kill the game even though it soared to get a place among the top games and was earning him ad revenue of $50,000 per day.
Several similar games hit the app stores, however, he announced in May that he has plans to bring back the game with more features after a gap. There is no word yet about bringing it to the mobile phone platforms.
