Mozilla has finally announced beta version of Firefox for Windows 8.
The easy to use Firefox beta has been optimised for Windows 8 user interface thanks to its tile-based Firefox start screen that matches with the rest of Windows 8 and its apps. The new browser allows one-tap access to familiar browser elements including top sites, bookmarks and history.
It also supports ‘pinch to zoom’ and one-touch swipe transitions. Users will have the option to select from full or partial view options available on Windows similar to the options which allows them to view an app full-screen, ‘snapped’ to a narrow area of the screen, or if they want it to ‘fill’ the remaining screen area.
Visual navigation via big tiles is another feature available with Firefox for Windows 8 beta, which speeds up things making the entire browsing process easier. The Windows share integration feature allows users to share content on any of the installed social networks, thereby expediting the sharing process.
‘Awesome Bar’, a Typical Firefox feature will also be available for use in the beta.
Firefox for Windows 8, which was first announced in February 2012, was previously slated for a December 10 release alongside Firefox 26. The launch was delayed to January 21 alongside Firefox 27; however, that didn’t happen either and now the full version is slated for a possible March 18 release.
