FIFA 14 has managed to reclaim its lost ace position in the UK gaming charts by outselling Call of Duty: Ghosts to become the Christmas 2013 No.1 video game.
Latest figures from GfK Chart-Track reveal that EA’s ball kicking game managed to outsell Activision’s action game by over 17,000 units thereby registering an 18 percent jump in sales week-over-week. FIFA 14 stood second to Call of Duty: Ghosts last week by a difference of just 600 units. This is the franchise’s first XMAS No. 1 position since FIFA 2009 and eight since the game was first announced.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Grand Theft Auto V, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition have all managed to climb two positions finishing third, sixth, ninth and tenth. Battlefield 4 retained its fourth position, while no entrant has been registered last week. The primary reason behind Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag managing a third position is the retailer’s pricing promotion on PlayStation 3 as well as Xbox 360.
