Facebook on Monday introduced a new bookmarking feature dubbed ‘Save’ that will allow users to save content including links, pages, movies, TV and music to check out later.
Facebook software engineer Daniel Giambalvo in a blog post said users come across all sorts of interesting items on Facebook everyday that they don’t have time to access right away. This new ‘Save’ feature will let them save items that they find interesting enough to check out later in spare time.
Users will be able to save anything like places, movies, TV and music and the items saved will only be visible to the users unless they choose to share them with friends, Giambalvo added.
The saved items can be accessed by clicking on the Saved feature on the left-hand side of the News Feed. On mobile, the same can be accessed in a new section under the “More” tab.
In case users forget that they have saved something, the social networking giant will remind them of what they have saved through occasional News Feed posts. Users will also have an option to share any saved items with their other Facebook friends.
Facebook confirmed that the Save feature will be rolled out to users over the next few days on the Web as well as on mobile devices running Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android.
