Facebook has acquired Bangalore, India based company that specializes in building tools for analyzing and enhancing efficiency of Android apps.
“Little Eye Labs will join forces with Facebook to take its mobile development to the next level! This is Facebook’s first acquisition of an Indian company, and we are happy to become part of such an incredible team”, said the Indian company on its website.
Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg have been increasingly diverting their attention to garner greater share in the mobile ad segment and the acquisition is likely to help the social networking giant attain that goal. Apps analytics and specifically the usage patterns of users is critical for advertisers to serve targeted ads and it seems that Little Eye Labs has just about the right tools.
In an emailed statement to Bloomberg, Subbu Subramanian, Facebook’s Bangalore-based engineering manager said, “The Little Eye Labs technology will help us to continue improving our Android codebase to make more efficient, higher-performing apps.”
Financial terms of the acquisition haven’t been disclosed; however, those aware about the deal have placed it around the $15 million mark.
“The entire Little Eye Labs team will move to Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California. From there, we’ll be able to leverage Facebook’s world-class infrastructure and help improve performance of their already awesome apps”, said Little Eye Labs.
