Evad3rs have warned users that their latest evasi0n7 iOS 7 jailbreak is incompatible with Wi-Fi only version of iPad 2 and is currently investigating the issue.
There have been reports from iPad 2 users that their tablet was getting stuck in an endless reboot loop after they applied the latest jailbreak. Evad3rs have taken a note of the same and have publicly acknowledged the issue asking users to refrain from applying the jailbreak.
“We have reports that the iPad 2 (wifi) is not yet compatible with the jailbreak and will certainly get stuck in a reboot loop. Avoid trying evasi0n on that model till we make further investigations”, reads the warning message on evasi0n.com.
Evade3rs member pod2g has said that they will be working on the iPad 2 issue, but after the holidays. “We still have to work on the compatibility issue with the iPad 2, but we have been busy celebrating with our family… Tomorrow probably!” read a December 24 tweet by pod2g.
This is not the only issue with iOS 7 jailbreak as evad3rs have highlighted two other issues. One involves over-the-air iOS 7 update breaking the jailbreak and the other is to do with Cydia tweaks not being compatible with iOS 7. The team has said that they are looking into the first issue while the situation with the second one should improve as developers update their software.
It seems that the premature release of iOS 7 jailbreak is to blame here and the recent TaiG and the outdated version of Cydia controversy didn’t do evad3rs any good. Evad3rs have since then updated the jailbreak and removed the TaiG app while Cydia has been updated to support iOS 7.
Should put up that warning on day one…
they dont have all the apple devices to test it on. also when you jailbreak you should know theres always a chance devices going loopy, it is obvious when you jailbreak any device you the programme is making changes to your system files. if your not techy enough to understand that, i suggest dont jailbreak it. simple!
Free product…Use at own risk
when will this be resolved ?? i have an ipad 2 on ios 7, stuck in reboot loop! 🙁
@Tmorris
Why can’t you just restore it by putting it into dfu mode and just wait for a fix for this ipad2 issue
iPhone 5 with iOS 7.04, trying to jailbreak with Evasi0n 1.0.1 on Windows 7. keep getting stuck on “configuring system 1/2”. I’ve tried disabling passcode, rebooting, rerunning as admin, airplane mode and even just flat out waiting, but it eventually fails.
phone does have the Evasi0n 7 logo on home screen. wonder if I should click on that to finish the process, or if I should keep trying with the Windows installer to finish.
resolved. after an encrypted backup, restore it as a new phone via iTunes. (This won’t work unless you disable “find my phone”. You should also disable passcode lock). Once restored, skip all the apple ID setup, bypass location services, etc. Once complete, close iTunes and run the windows Evasi0n app as an admin. No more getting stuck at Config 1/2 or 2/2. It will eventually ask you to click the evasi0n app on your phone’s home screen. Just follow the prompts until the windows app says it is finished and you can close. From there, I clicked on the Cydia icon to get the new file system happening. Afterwards, I did a restore from my encrypted backup and voila! Phone is right back to where I had it before I began the process and still has the jailbreak/cydia installed. Now time to start tweaking.
