EE on Monday announced a new mobile plan dubbed ‘Business Connect’ that aims to offer more flexibility to small business firms.
The UK mobile operator said that it thought of a new plan after it conducted a survey of a thousand SMB owners which found that 69 percent of small business owners predicted double digit growth in 2015 (26 percent average growth projection). However, around 42 percent of them admitted that they are ill-equipped to meet increase in demand.
The new mobile plan will allow companies to easily add or remove SIMs to their business contacts for use for a minimum of 30 days to deal with increase in customer demand and expansion of operations. With the new Business Connect offering, firms will be able to create and modify their custom plan, control the number of users and devices as well as set individual data-usage limits for each employee, within the overall plan amount.
The plan also offers a choice of shareable roaming minutes and text packs for the US, Europe and other international markets. Starting at £10 per month, every Business Connect plan will come with 5 free licences for the MobileIron mobility management tool.
Mike Tomlinson, Director of Small Business at EE, said that the company’s research shows Britain’s small businesses are expecting growth in the next year, but they don’t have the resources to scale to meet that change. Whether it’s quickly adding temporary or permanent staff, or travelling overseas to drive growth, the new Business Connect will serve all business needs well, Mike added.
EE claims that the offering could also be used for Internet of Things (IoT) projects, like GPS receivers could be added to networks for a short period of time during any IoT schemes.
