Recent outbreak of Ebola has paid off for Ebola.com owners who have managed to sell off the domain for a whopping $200,000 (£124,000) to a company registered in Russia.
Chris Hood and John Schultz of Blue String Ventures managed to buy Ebola.com for $13,500 in 2008. The recent outbreak has earned Hood and Schultz over $186,500 in profits.
The new owners of the domain name are Weed Growth Fund and a US firm called Cannabis Sativa. According to reports, the new owners are investigating ways in which the drug can be used in the treatment of Ebola.
If you happen to visit Ebola.com, the site hosts a few facts about the disease. Little is known about the plans of the new owners, but according to information provided by Schultz, the domain has somewhere around 5,000 page views. Most of the visitors are those looking for information on the disease said Schultz.
