Bungie’s Destiny has entered its second year and Destiny: The Taken King has refueled the interest of online gamers and to cash-in on this success, the developer has announced introduction of microtransactions in the game.
Bungie revealed through an official press release that starting October 13, players will find Tess Everis return to The Tower with a new look, a new storefront, and some new items to sell. The developer added that currently Everis has 18 emotes on offer, but the storefront will expand as far as offerings are concerned.
Courtesy of Eververse Trading Company players can buy emotes using in-game currency, which bungie has named ‘Silver’, and this currency can be purchased through the store associated with your console. Bungie reminds its users that emotes will have not impact on the players’ abilities in the game and that they are completely optional.
“If you’re not interested in what Tess has to offer, you won’t ever be forced to pluck an item off of her shelf”, Bungie adds.
However, for those who don’t mind trying out the new offering, Bungie is offering a few free Silver using which players can purchase an emote or two and check for themselves what is on offer. If the players decide that they don’t want to purchase anything else, they won’t be forced to do so.
You will continue receiving updates to the game, and won’t lose a Crucible encounter or fail to clear a Raid because you didn’t have the right Eververse Trading Company emote equipped.
“Our plan is to use these new items to bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events that we’ll announce later this year”, the company added.
So far the company hasn’t revealed any pricing, but has said that once the storefront is live on October 13th, players will be provided with all details through the game and through its website.
