Dell has launched its new range of Android and Windows tablets in the Indian market on Monday to compete with other global rivals including Samsung, Apple and Lenovo.
The new tablets will be available in the market with a price tag of between Rs 10,990 (£112) and Rs 47,000 (£480). Venue 7 and 8 run on Android 4.2 operating system are available in 7-inch and 8-inch sizes and will cost less as compared to Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro with 8- and 11-inch screens.
The 7-inch Venue 7 Android tablet is powered by a dual-core Clover Trail-based Intel Atom processor Z2580 clocked up to 1.6GHz, while Venue 8 will come with a dual-core Intel Atom (up to 2.0GHz) processor Z2560. The Venue 7 comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, while the Venue 8 comes with 2GB RAM and is offered in two storage options – 16 and 32GB.
The smaller one will have a VGA camera on the front and a 3-megapixel camera on the back, while the larger one packs a 2-megapixel front camera and a 5-megapixel rear shooter. Both tablets will be made available in Black colour only.
The Venue 8 Pro Windows tablet features a 1,280 x 800p HD IPS screen powered by 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and microSD card slot. The tablet weighs 395g and is 9mm thick.
The Venue 11 Pro Windows tablet on the other hand will feature a full-HD 1,920 x 1,080p screen with support for 10-finger simultaneous touch. The tablet will run on 2.4 GHz Intel Atom processor, 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage options, 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facing snapper.
That’s not all as Dell is also planning to open up to 200 exclusive retail stores by the end of February in India to increase its market presence.
