Users of Cryptsy, the cryptocurrency exchange, which allows for trading of over 100 different types of cryptocurrencies has been having troubles since a few hours following which trading has been suspended for maintenance.
According to reports, user started noticing negative balances, frozen transfers as well as suspended withdrawals and many believe it is because of the most recent update to the site. Cryptsy has replied on one of the threads of Bitcointalk forum stating that they provide more information when trading is resumed.
“Well give you something official when trading resumes”, read the reply.
The last tweet from BigVern of Cryptsy, which was about 10 hours back, indicates that the exchange is undergoing maintenance.
“Trading paused to perform some maintenance. Will resume shortly”, read the tweet.
Following this tweet multiple users of the exchange reported of stuck orders, improper balances among other issues.
“Damn I didn’t read this but I lost .07 btc trying to trade while it was paused. I hope I get them back”, tweeted one user.
“Everything is stucked tonight my bot tilted and sold off all the doge because it was receiving fake data from craptsy, FY Big Vern” wrote another.
“balances completely out of whack and lots of negatives even in coins I dont trade. What’s up?”
“Lost 0.0600 BTC when I cancelled a order in BC market. been like 15 mins still haven’t got that btc back. Care to help?”

Cryptsy performs regular maintenance and has seen this problem and an audit go without anyone losing their coins before.
Nothing to be worried about, as I’ve had negative balances before and within a matter of hours everyone’s balances were restored.

Cryptsy and other exchanges pause trading engines regularily as they perform maintenance or work through issues with the engine, or security, or wallets, or whatever they have to do to keep the exchange running smooth and secure.
