Wearable technology has not only caught the attention of main stream consumer electronics giants, but has also influenced local Chinese white-box manufacturers and to gauge market reaction they are likely to unveil wearable gadgets at MWC 2014, reports have claimed.
Pegged for Q2 2014 launch, wearable gadgets from white-box Chinese manufacturers could be showcased at the MWC 2014 and they may include smartwatches, healthcare wristbands, headsets among other things.
Wearable gadgets from these vendors does make sense as they have been penetrating international markets by selling their smartphones and tablets and these gadgets will act as add-ons for those who can’t afford branded wearable gadgets.
According to a report on the DigiTimes, the wearable gadgets are to be made using chipset solutions from Taiwan-based IC suppliers and to accommodate the growing demand, design houses in Taiwan have already started working towards enhancing their development of new analog ICs, wireless chips, power management ICs, and touch controllers used in such gadgets.
