There have been reports that a gold Apple Watch will cost upwards of $5,000 and that piece of information did manage to drop a few jaws, but this one from Mervis is way more over the top considering the $30,000 (~£19,250) price tag.
Mervis has taken rose gold Apple Watch and fitted it with a wristband containing hundreds of diamonds totalling more than 15 carats with each boasting of high grades of E/F in color and VS1/VS2 in clarity. Apple isn’t extending anything special to the watch from technology perspective – so that price is because of the diamonds.
Mervis has showed off the teaser of its version of Apple Watch on its Facebook page, but it seems that the company hasn’t done the job perfectly as the watch seems to feature a shorter casing.
This isn’t the first time when an Apple gadget has got the bling treatment as luxury goods companies have regularly taken to morph Apple products by encrusting them with diamonds and plating them with gold and platinum. Mervis itself was one of the companies that doled out $19,000 iPad featuring 11.43 carats of diamonds.
