BT, one of the UK’s leading telecom giants, on Monday announced the launch of a new 4G service aimed at serving small-medium sized businesses.
On opting for the new 4G service, SMEs will get superfast 4G connection speed along with access to BT’s 5 million UK Wi-Fi hotspots by downloading the BT Wi-Fi app, at absolutely ‘no extra cost’. Existing customers will get access to the 4G service when they get their plans renewed.
The service will make use of EE’s existing 4G infrastructure under the MVNO agreement which the 2 firms had signed in October last year to provide joint access to their networks.
Graham Sutherland, CEO for BT Business, said that the company, in a research, found that 24 percent of employees work regularly out of the office. Taking this factor into consideration the company has designed its new mobile plans as a part of its strategy to offer a portfolio that provides value for money as well as meets the dynamic business needs.
Sutherland said the company’s new plans will offer customers the connectivity which they would require to stay productive, along with the flexibility to choose a plan that suits their way of working.
BT also recently launched BT One Phone, a unified communications platform that offers an integrated cloud-based solution allowing users to route calls from any device, landline or mobile, and multiple numbers into one line.
