British Telecom (BT) has launched a new Home SmartPhone S device to keep its users updated with the latest Android technology across the world, while still giving them utility of a home line.
The Android powered device is a touchscreen landline phone allowing access to internet via home Wi-Fi. The new device will feature a 3.5-inch screen with 2GB of expandable memory for music and photo storage.
SmartPhone S will comes pre-loaded with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tune-In Radio and some other popular apps along with various games. The phone will have the capacity to store up to 1,500 contacts. BT customers can use the Opera apps store for downloading additional apps.
One distinguishing feature which makes this device different from other similar Android landline handsets is the Nuisance Call Blocker feature. This interesting feature facilitates blocking calls from ‘international’ numbers, ‘withhold’ numbers, and unknown callers, so that users do not have to deal with any potential scams that too at premium rate lines.
On top of that there is this ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature which switches off the ringer and allow barring outgoing calls to selected numbers.
The device comes with a price tag of £170, which equates to roughly $275 and is available at the BT shop.
The new BT Home SmartPhone S device will allow customers to enjoy the features of a smartphone combined with the great features of a BT home phone, including the very useful nuisance call blocking feature, said BT Wifi and Devices director Erik Raphael.
