BT has announced pricing details of its forthcoming Ultra HD TV package that includes its new Ultra HD channel dubbed BT Sport Ultra HD and the new 1TB Ultra HD YouView+ set top box.
The new BT Sport Ultra HD channel is scheduled for an August 2 launch with first live broadcast of the FA Community Shield match at Wembley between Chelsea and Arsenal. It’ll also cover the first game of the Barclays Premier League when Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday, August 8 as well as selected live coverage from the UEFA Champions League, Barclays Premier League, FA Cup, Aviva Premiership Rugby and MotoGP.
The “Entertainment Ultra HD” package, which comes in at a competitive £15 a month plus a one-time set-top box installation charge of £44, includes the full BT Sport Pack, including BT Sport Ultra HD, 47 premium channels, up to 80 free-to-air channels and catch-up services like BBC iPlayer and All 4. New customers will also be entitled to get a 1TB Ultra HD set top box and a voucher for up to £500 off an LG ultra HD TV. BT has revealed that the minimum broadband speed needed for its 4K channel is 44Mbps.
