Computer users in UK lose five and a half days every year trying to run slow PCs and waiting for the computers to respond. This wait has been considered as one of the 7 most stressful everyday experiences, reports a computer user’s survey.
Computer storage company SanDisk, recently commissioned a survey wherein 8,001 computer users all across the globe answered a series of questions. The survey report revealed that people in Italy were found experiencing the longest delays waiting on average for 6.8 days per year, people in the U.K. were found wasting 5.5 days every year and the American facing the lowest downtime amounting to 4.9 days per year.
The most common cause of downtime in the U.K. was waiting for the software and files to be downloaded which amounted to wasting 130 hours per year, followed by slow loading of the applications. The least time was wasted in booting up the computers.
Around one third – 30 percent – people surveyed in the UK accepted that slow-loading of the PCs would put them in a bad mood for the rest of the day. The other 29 percent claimed they lost their sleep over it.
Put on a hold on the telephone while in a conversation, waiting for buses and trains and going to a medical appointment made up to the top three positions in the list of 7 most stressful everyday experiences.
Losing sleep over a slow computer sounds awful, but you can’t always afford to replace your computer. Usually a simple registry cleaner or startup manager tool can get rid of problems and speed up boot times. I’ve been using awdit desktop free to keep my PC in top shape, works to make it faster even if it’s ancient!
