BlackBerry has updated BBM for Android, iOS, and BlackBerry devices, adding support for several new features.
The latest update dubbed BBM version 2.6 adds one of the most requested features, which is support for sending stickers in group chats. Now BBM users will be able to use the stickers in group chat. The company is also running a special offer on sticker packs, priced at $0.99 for a limited time.
The second addition is support for longer times for BBM’s timed messaging function. Until now, timed messaging supported only up to 15 seconds only. From now onwards, timed messages will last for up to 60 seconds and can be viewed multiple times until their respective timers expire.
As for iOS users, the new update brings a new design for the app, as well as support for Apple’s latest operating system iOS 8. The app has been optimized for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus screens.
“You can’t help but notice the sleek and modern design updates like a flat UI and attractive transparencies. These adjustments make BBM look sharp across supported Apple devices,” added Jesse Ariss of BlackBerry on the blog post.
On the Android side of things, the new BBM version adds support for the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system as well as a landscape mode for Google’s mobile OS.
Furthermore on BlackBerry 10, users can now share multiple pictures and other attachments at the same time.
The updated BBM app version is currently available for download from Google Play, App Store and BlackBerry World.
