BlackBerry has rolled out the latest BB OS 10.2.1 update bringing a lot of new features compatible with BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
The update is already available for download in all major markets including the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Africa and Latin America.
This latest software update includes new enhancements such as –
- Actionable lock screen notifications – Messages that appear on the lock screen can be just tapped on to open, allowing quick response to important messages.
- Picture password for unlocking – The BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1 introduces picture password (combination of a picture and number) to unlock the smartphone.
- Custom BlackBerry Hub using pinch gestures – This version allows customizing and filtering messages as well as notifications in BlackBerry Hub using pinch gestures.
- FM Radio – The new update activates the built-in FM radio in the BlackBerry Z30, BlackBerry Q10 and BlackBerry Q5 handsets.
- Device and Battery Monitor – An improved device monitor with all the necessary information on memory usage, battery usage, impact of installed apps as well as CPU stats.
BlackBerry’s new BB OS 10.2.1 update includes other features like offline browser reading mode, SMS and email groups, optional automatic software updates, preferred contact sync option, enterprise features, customisable quick settings menu and simplified phone experience with an incoming call screen with new icons to silence a call, swipe left to answer a call or swipe right to ignore a call, Reply Now feature to reject calls with a message through BBM, SMS or email with a personalized note.
