Months after the launch of the iOS and Android version, the BlackBerry Messenger seems to be a step closer to the Windows Phone roll out.
BlackBerry has launched the beta version of the BBM for Windows Phone and users interested can sign up at the BlackBerry beta zone, which is currently full. However, users can still join the waitlist.
On signing up, users will have to receive an invitation from BlackBerry to test the beta version of BBM for Windows Phone. The Canadian firm is expected to open up the app to all users in the coming weeks.
BlackBerry in a blog post, announcing the launch, said that BBM for Windows Phone was the answer to the “incredible” demands and requests for the version from so many users and that the company will be ready to welcome “millions of Windows Phone users to the growing BBM community” in the coming weeks.

Jeff Gadway, head of product and brand marketing for BBM, said that the company is expecting participants to help in making BBM for Windows Phone great and that if anybody, who is not ready to report bugs, provide feedbacks or respond to surveys, will have to wait for a bit longer for the full release.
Gadway said that the new version of BBM will come with a native look and feel, to give user experience that “embraces the clean, modern design of the Windows Phone UI.”
He noted that the first release will be focused on introducing the Windows Phone users to “power of sharing experiences” through BBM, with ability to share pictures contacts, location and voice notes. He also added that the company will be “working quickly” to roll out more features for the Windows Phone version such as stickers, BBM Voice and BBM channels in the months ahead.
