BlackBerry has announced an operating system upgrade for Z10, Q10 and Q5 in the form of BlackBerry OS 10.2, which will reach customer in Europe, Canada, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific soon.
Some of the new features of BlackBerry OS 10.2 include Priority Hub; BBM Video with Natural Sound; instant previews of BBM, SMS and Email from any app; copy and paste enhancements; lock screen notifications; Reply Now; and Calendar Enhancements among others. The new features will allow users to be more productive and help them to stay better connected.
Priority Hub learns which messages are important to a user and keeps them at the top of the inbox, allowing them to stay focused on the critical items. With BBM Video with Natural sound, voice and video conversations through BBM will sound more realistic.
“We’re able to accomplish this because BlackBerry Natural Sound captures a wider sound spectrum, so you can hear subtle nuances that are lost in most cellular calls.”
With Instant previews users will be able to preview BBM, emails and SMS from any app and can even respond to BBM or SMS right there and then. BlackBerry has made sharing easier by reducing the number of steps and amount of time it takes a user to navigate to photos, files or documents.
“Touching “share” in any app provides suggestions on who and how to share your files based on how you’ve shared in the past, and the feature only gets smarter the more you use it.”
Lock Screen Notifications will allow users to quickly have a look at the emails, SMS, BBM or any form of other notifications without having to unlock the smartphone. Users can even customize the account which appears on the lock screen notifications.
