BlackBerry’s latest 4G LTE touchscreen smartphone dubbed ‘the BlackBerry Leap’ has finally been launched in the UK.
The Canadian smartphone has confirmed that the new smartphone will be rolled out in other major markets including Canada, India, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and the United States over the next few weeks.
Powered by the latest BlackBerry 10.3.1 operating system, the BlackBerry Leap features a 5-inch HD display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD slot, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front snapper, and a 2800mAh battery which the maker claims will provide 25 hours of heavy use on a single charge.
The Canadian smartphone maker claims that the Leap, aimed at young professionals and startups, is designed with the highest standard of security. It includes encryption, built-in malware protection and back-up as well as wipe & restore to help users secure their data and protect them from cyberattacks.
Also present are touchscreen keyboard, the voice-activated BlackBerry Assistant and BlackBerry Blend, which lets users access messages, emails and notifications from their phone on a tablet or PC. Users can download business and productivity apps from the BlackBerry World app store and games and other apps from the Amazon Appstore.
