Battlefield 4 was launched in the UK today, but PC and Xbox gamers have flooded online forums along with Twitter complaining about bugs, connectivity and server issues because of which the game is unplayable.
DICE opted for an open beta initially and then a staggered released of Battlefield 4 starting with US this week, but it seems that neither of the proactive steps helped the game in any way. Battlefield 3 met with similar fate initially after its launch last year.
Developers have disabled the server queues for both Xbox and PC versions, but PS3 owners are also complaining about empty server lists and even problems with starting quick matches. Server owners on the other hand are complaining that despite the update released yesterday their servers are still unstable and crashing on and off.
Some PC owners who are trying to download the game are not able to – seemingly an issue with the Firewall protecting BF4 servers. Those who have already downloaded the game and have an AMD graphics card on their systems PC aren’t able to play the game properly because their card requires a driver update. Those who are able to play Battlefield 4 in single player mode are complaining that weapons are unavailable even after they have unlocked them.
On analysis various user reported problems it seems that almost half of the Battlefield 4 multiplayer matches either end up freezing or crashing.
According to forum reports, developers over at DICE are “investigating the issues” and working to fix the issues as soon as possible and hope to have the game up and running soon.
@lazer789 We are currently aware of this and investigating. Thanks for coming to us.
