Boxed version of Dark Souls 2 on PC has been delayed by a week in the UK pushing back the release to May 2, Bandai Namco has confirmed.
According to the publisher a ‘manufacturing issue’ in packaging has come up which will affect its UK based customers. In a statement to Eurogamer, Bandai Namco said “This is only affecting the UK on the boxed release of the game”.
Bandai Namco has claimed that users preferring digital downloads over disc based versions will be able to get their copy on the previously announced release date – April 25 – via Steam even in the UK.
However, there have been reports citing unnamed sources that the digital release of the game on Steam will be affected to. According to a tweet from Chris Cook of GameKeysNow “we’ve just had it confirmed from source it will affect Steam release too”; however, this claim cannot be verified as of press time.
Dark Souls 2 has already been launched for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in March, but it is said that the PC version of the game is the best of all platforms. The PC version of the game incorporates a huge upgrade as far as the visual fidelity of the game is concerned. The two main upgrades – higher resolution and frame rate gives the PC version of Dark Souls 2 an edge over its console counterparts.
