Asus has announced M70AD desktop PC – the world’s first desktop to have an in built support for NFC (Near Field Communication).
The M70AD PC allows wire-free pairing of desktop PCs with Android smart devices, which enables easy syncing of content between them. Moreover, the new NFC Express technology offers automatic photo and video back up feature from Android device onto the desktop PC.
The Asus desktop comes with some unique features including a built-in UPS that in the event of a power cut allows the PC to shut down safely after all data and documents have been saved. There’s a Qi wireless inductive plate and fast USB charging feature that allow devices to charge even when the PC is shut down. A hot-swappable Universal Storage Module (USM) drive bay also makes it easy for users to use high-capacity external SATA hard drives.
Powered by a 4th generation Intel Core (Haswell) processor with the option of integrated Intel graphics or discrete Nvidia GeForce graphics card, the Asus M70AD also features 4GB DDR3 RAM, a 500GB hard drive, a slim DVD-RW drive, and a 16-in-1 card reader, pre-installed 64-bit Windows 8 and a number of applications including Asus WebStorage (32GB for 3 years), Asus launcher, Power Director, Photo Director, and Music Maker Silver. The desktop also offers trial versions of office and antivirus suites.
The desktop was launched in India with an introductory price tag of Rs. 62,000. No release date has been announced yet.
