Apple has announced its 12 days of Christmas app through which it will run its giveaway promotions starting December 26.
The app, if you download now, only shows a countdown timer until the first freebie is made available. Once active starting December 26, users will be offered gifts with each new one appearing at midnight in each of the time zones and will be up for grabs for a period of 24 hours.
“From December 26 to January 6, you can download a gift each day—songs, apps, books, movies, and more—with the 12 Days of Gifts app”, reads the description of the app on App Store. This is the first time that the app has been made available to users in the US.
For those who are travelling should keep in mind that they won’t be able to take advantage of the goodies as Apple requires that users who want to take advantage of the promotion must be in a country or region that matches the billing address on their Apple ID.
