Famous rock band U2, which shot a video on the Samuel Beckett Bridge in Ireland, is said to be in a tie up with Apple for its event scheduled for September 9, according to sources.
Just as Apple’s big event is arriving, rumour mills are chugging fresh rumours and the latest involves U2, which has had several tie ups with the company in the past. It is said that one of U2’s albums would come preloaded with the iPhone 6.
As Apple has always tried to keep preloaded apps and content minimal, it is very unlikely of Apple to send out phones with a preloaded music album, according to some sources.
It has also been said that U2’s Bono might be a special guest for the iPhone 6 launch event on September 9 reportedly for the unveiling of the company’s next flagship smartphone iPhone 6.
Bono has been associated with the company in the past by designing gold earpods and by taking part in Apple’s RED initiatives to offer special red iPods and accessories to help fund the fight against AIDS.
U2 has also shot some of the commercials in the past for Apple and the video shot in Dublin last week might have been just another commercial.
The two story white structure built by Apple outside the Flint Center for the September 9 event might be for Bono and his team’s performance, according to some sources.
While there is no confirmation about whether or not the video was shot for Apple, the theme of the video seems to feature a phone which was deduced from the picture leaked by music promoter Stephen Browne.
It remains to be seen whether or not Apple will consider entertaining its audience with a music performance on a launch event.
