Apple has rolled out the second beta of iOS 8.2 to developers, loaded with some improvements and fixes along for the ride.
One of the major additions made to iOS 8.2 is the WatchKit SDK that will allow developers to work on and develop apps, Glances, and notifications for the Apple Watch, which is slated for a launch sometime early next year.
The beta is bundled with some WatchKit fixes including fix for a bug that caused notifications to fail to open an app, an issue that caused WatchKit apps to stop working in iOS 8 simulator and more.
The WatchKit API has also undergone some changes and now lets developers override the default appearance of tables on the Apple Watch.
Other inclusions on the beta update are support for Singapore English in Siri and keyboard fixes in iOS simulator.
iOS 8.2 beta 2 is compatible with the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3 and the fifth generation iPod touch.
The beta, build 12D445d, is available immediately as an over-the-air update or via the Apple Developer Center for download by registered developers. The Cupertino has also released Xcode 6.2 beta 2 with Watchkit.
There are no details yet as when the final version of iOS 8.2 will get a general release.
